Here we have a very early L-1000 from 1981! As part of the L-series from G&L, which was founded by Leo Fender, George Fullerton, and Dale Hyatt, the L-1000 stands out with its robust, punchy sound, driven by a single magnetic humbucking pickup and the unique Bi-Pole system that offers enhanced tonal clarity and versatility. The 1981 model, with its elegant Transparent Blue finish, showcases G&L’s craftsmanship and attention to detail during the early 80s, a period when the company was gaining recognition for its innovative designs.
It’s in very good condition with lots of light marks and scratches to the neck throughout. The body has some paint chips and is missing the finish on the bottom of body, as can be seen in the last photo. We have given this bass a full checkover, everything is working properly including the trussrod and electrics. Included is a hardcase.
