“This is my IceDrive, a bass overdrive I developed over the past year. As a bassist myself I wanted a drive that wasn’t too over the top, that gave me good control over my tone, was too ‘clanky’ but also offered versatility.

So I came up with this. Essentially it started out as a Tubescreamer, a TS9 to be precise but then over the course of development I ended up completely stripping away almost everything. I kept the dual opamp and soft clipping but the clipping then changed to a warp control. A potentiometer that sweeps between symmetrical LEDs and asymmetrical Si diodes. The gain stage has two sets of components selectable on the mini toggle (or footswitchable if you wish, this would be a custom job and inherit a slightly higher cost, but not much.)  This takes the gain from a nice mild a thick tone to a bit more of a bite and losses a little low end for a more modern tone.

The tone control is a Marshall style one with a fixed bass control. This allows full bass throughout the tone section with out tone and mids control, adding to the bass, not removing it. “
